:: I have not been able to find any answer from within about what it means to stand firm as a 6. Is it loyalty, and if so, loyalty to what? To my employer, my friends, my moral values? What if these are in conflict? And how do you reconcile standing firm with action--how is it different than merely standing still, which is just another reaction to fear, the "sin" of a 6?

6's get a feeling of fear or anxiety. This manifests in a number of ways; doubting others or self, putting distance between self and the object of the fear (including mental distance to fearfull internal thoughts), inactivity and/or procrastination as to avoid greater exposure to percieved threats, exaggerating the percieved danger, or irrationally going after the object of the fear.

All of these imply REACTION the the fearfull or anxious impulse. To stand firm means to not let the feelings of fear, anxiety, and doubt overwhelm you into action or inaction that is detrimental to you and those you care about.

To me standing for a 6 is:

Stopping the doubting mind when it comes in.
Standing and not running away from, or towards the percieved threat.
Standing by your own thoughts, opinions, perceptions, and inner beliefs when challenged by an apparent authority.
Moving ahead in TRUST when feelings of paralysis and procrastination come in.
