It means that without faith in yourself, you'll never find the security
you crave, but that when you do have faith in yourself, there is no
assailing force from outside that can take that security away from you.
To stand firm is not to let those forces push you off balance -- when the
force can be resisted, to resist; when the force cannot be resisted, to
yield without falling.
