So, do you think when 2 is balanced and healty, you think they don't become altruistic? Do you believe no matter how balanced a 2 becomes, they are hopeless to reach their highest level of selfless giving of altruisism? Do you think that low of them that you don't believe that they can overcome their giving to get love?
You don't believe Mother Teresa and Princess Diana was altruistic?
I know it is difficult to convince a lot of 6 about the sincerity of some 2 in altruism, especially my sister and other people. Helen Palmer have noticed the same things before I heard of the Enneagram. ha, ha, ha. I find what the Enneagram teachers teach matches with what I have observe in real people comparing to your views. Why you insist that you know more about type 2 than those who have studied them for years and discount each individual's experiences with Type 2? Why don't you write to these Enneagram teachers that made the Enneagram available, which inspired the existing of this website and let them know you believe they are wrong and you know better than they do.
I believe 2 are equal to other Enneagram personality types in reaching to their highest levels of development or become actualized, balanced, or healthy. I believe a 2 can overcome their tendency of "giving to get love" and reach the level of altruistism, just like a 7 can overcome Gluttony and become satisfied. Like a 3 overcome deceit and become a paragon and authentic.
If you are looking for a debate and strive on opposition, I am the wrong person to debate because I prefer harmony than discourse. I believe all Enneagram types are equally great and can achieve balance or become healthy. Have a great day.
