Polly,
Some of the key things you said:
>
I find that I like structure.....
......although though I seek structure, I also find that at times I chafe under it).
You have to narrow the universe to some extent to get a handle on it...or you can spend forever getting a hint of this and a hint of that (as I have done) and not having a satisfying sense of things.
I also like being able to have somewhat of a complete picture, and though I resist ruling things out.....
I like clear direction, though I suppose I want to make it on my own terms...
.........I do look to structures for some outside authority or insight, but I guess I think that by finding a system that makes sense to me I make the authority my own.
I'm trying to understand myself better so that I can figure out how best to approach this new job.
If I can get at some typical patterns of mine or responses to things, I would think that I would be able to handle situations and weaknesses better in the future.
I would like for once to get a little deeper into it before I get caught up in other things.
I like knowing what makes people tick.
----------------------------------------------------------
If you've been genuine, issues of structure (ie. security), finding an authority or system to make your own (as opposed to creating one yourself or changing one or ignoring it), understanding, adjusting yourself to a new job (ie. compliance, as opposed to dominance), future orientation, keeping options open, authority and outside forces making demands on you, & knowing what makes other people tick come through.
Along with your RHETI scores, this should give clarity to what your focused on, and what is motivating you.
Any ideas?
