I do find this an interesting observation but not sure I agree. Personally, it would hold true. I needed glasses by 10 and have horrible eyesight. I had Rhematic Fever as a child twice and was bed ridden for months and read constantly-still do-I read -or grab anything with print on it. My son(17) and husband (who is 51) tend toward deslexia-hate to read and have excellent eyesight. My daughter (25) reads some, has worn glasses or contacts since about 13 but doesn't have really bad eyesight. SO-in my family what you say is exact.
However, I have taught kindergarten for 26 years and every year several children are found to need glassses at this early age. I see no corelation between the type of child that needs glasses being one that is more exposed to books or print-read to more-etc. And as I think about older children in my school-I would say the same-I don't see a corlation. But this is only on my personal observation -not anything scientific. Personally, I always got a little peaved when people said my eyesight was bad because I always had my nose in a book. Basically, I think it is genetic! But your observation is very interesting and food for thought-even if it were true , with all the great advances in vision care , I would tell anyone-READ READ READ!
Thanks for sharing
