A lot of stuff about behaviour snipped. Most of it applies to me to, or very similarly.
The punctuality thing... I don't like to arrive early either, and I often go for a walk for a couple of minutes rather than arrive before the
arrival time. I used to arrive late very seldom, but I've taken to being less punctual at social events and parties (when my presence wouldn't
be missed). Also, I tend to occupy my time up to the last minute before I've got to leave which means I'm often a couple of minutes late, or
rushed. However, if there's a fixed time to leave, I can drop everything on demand.

> Anyway, I think that I've listed enough of my traits. The thing is, some are quite P, some are quite J, and some seem disturbingly 9w1-like. Is there any light to be shed on this matter?

I used to assume that I was J[1], just because I assumed that I was a fairly orderly person. Then I thought about the state of my room. (Also, I
realised that the INTP description fitted me rather too well...)
I think Fives are supposed to have this ambivalent attitude to predictability and organisation. Thinking about it in my case, it may have something
to do with an aversion to wasting time. I can quite happily take on projects where I know what I have to do to succeed, but I tend to procrastinate
horribly when the outcome is in doubt. It might also be to do with a fear of criticism.

It could also be a Nine's aversion to taking a position, and other aspects of Nine. Dave's belief that one has an aversion to one's type might well
apply. On the other hand, I've had an aversion to being an emotionally repressed intellectual for years, so I might have worked through my aversion
to Fivishness already. Also, I just don't get the Nine mindset, while I resonate strongly with the 'detached from reality' Five mindset.

> Peter (who tests as a 5w4 INTP, but scores quite high on 9, and the P isn't nearly as extreme as I, N and T)

I haven't done the proper Myers-Briggs thing, but on the other tests I come out very highly P, although not as P as I. I suspect the RHETI is skewed
towards lumping Fours, Fives and Nines together. I did another test (from a book), and came out much less Nine than I expected. Actually, I came out
as equal Five and Six which wasn't what I expected either.
