Death is overrated. To me its no big deal. To have the perspective that Andy posted (in all its nihilistic pseudo-glory) would, at least to me and I would think to anyone, kind of suck. Its all about perspectives. Mine is that since death is no big deal, I really have no fear of it. To say that THIS existence is the ONLY one we'll ever know is about as shortsighted as the early asronomers who beleived the EARTH was the center of the solar system. Or the early physicits who thought that the atom was the smallest particle in the universe, and furthermore that it was indestructable.
What I wonder about Andy (and others like him) is, what keeps you going? How do you find meaning? And why would you try to find meaning? Why, Andy, bother with this enneargram? Time, as most of us are painfully aware, does not stop for anyone:
Tired of lying in the sunshine,
Staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long,
Aand there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find
10 years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run,
You missed the starting gun.
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but its sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
