Those more scientifically inclined would pay more attention to simply counting the letters and not care about the sentence, whereas language-inclined characters would trust their brain to catch the Fs and focus most of their attention of the WORDS and the sounds the words make.
This is just a blind guess, but I wonder about any of the others. Right now, I have only my hypothesis and my results. (I'm definitely a language guy and counted 3 Fs...)
