I went deep within a shell when forced to confront Belligerent Bullies and Loony Nuns from first grade on. Up to that time I was more outgoing and less self-conscious (tho I guess self-consciousness is a phase, or, as Erickson says, a growth opportunity which must be successfully mastered. I didn't). However, I was still a very sensitive child with an overactive imagination! Given other circumstances (many of which I haven't related here of course) I could see myself becoming a Five (if adopted into an intellectual family) or a Nine (dunno how tho), maybe even a Seven possibly, but the others were probably out of the question for the most part.
