Excellent but complex question. Riso's 9 levels of type might provide some
food for thought. Your willingness to address the issue suggests awareness and
possibly willingness to "grow." Ultimately the answer will come from within.
Perhaps that is the basis of more confrontational responses. Some types
like the experience of being complex or unique. So, yes, dysfunction does
egaggerate some aspects of type. Or vice-versa: exaggerated type appears to
be less functional.
Looking inside initially reveals aspects of oneself that may be difficult,
at first, to accept. Often we have rejected and avoided traits which are
now part of our own self. Initially, awareness can be off-putting.
Read what interests you. Post as you feel inclined and explore your interest
in self-discovery. Other opinions (including this one) are just opinions.
You are the expert about you. I encourage you to keep exploring. One
saying that comes to mind is that we are as sick as our secrets, especially
the ones we keep from ourself. Your opening post sounded like a "healthy"
expression to me.
