If you scored strongly in 4 you are probably 5w4. I don't believe most 9s would score strongly in 4. But here are some quick questions.

Are you more of an idealist (9) or an analyst (5)?

Are most people naturally comfortable around you (9) or think you are slightly eccentric but somewhat likable (5)?

Are you distracted easily from the focus of your attention (9) or are you the type of person who focuses so much on something that you shut out other stimuli from around you (5)?

One of my favorite here...

Do you fall asleep easily (9) or do you often toss and turn before you fall asleep (5)?

These questions don't really address the essential differences between 5s and 9s, but are good at determining your type. There's been a lot of discussion in the past of the difference between these two types. Some people actually believe 5s with 9 wings exist. I am skeptical of this because although both of these types are cerebral and repress their emotions, the type of thinking these two types do are drastically opposite, contradictory, if you ask me. A simple rule is that 5s are the better thinkers, the ones who answered all the questions in school. 9s get along better with people, they are the "cool as a cucumber" type. They are the ones in school who piped in with the "interesting insight," but only once in a while. 5s don't seem as cool. They seem kind of strange (and I'm not talking about looks. 5s can look and dress completely normal but there is still a strange "feel" when you are around one). Even at the healthiest levels, the unique strangeness of the 5 is always apparent (like Einstein, for instance, who some debate was a 9 because of his easygoing attitude, but in my opinion he was clearly a healthy 5w4.)

Hope this helps,

Ryan

> I scored about the same on Riso test...9 and 5 with strong 4 but very low on 8 and 7. Both 9 and 5 descriptions are accurate but a little extreme.

> Anyone have a good feel for the similarities and differences of these points; and specifically, the 5w4 and 9w1 strategies?

> Thanks.
