> Sure they have souls. Yet, their ability to affirm their own self-esteem from within themselves is underdeveloped. Therefore, they must look to the outside, from image-brokering to feedback-fishing. So they have no lack of humanity or feeling; they merely have an imbalance of perspective. In a way, that's what we all have, but Threes depend emotionally on others more than any other type (in the way that Sixes depend mentally and Nines instinctually), so their self-esteem complex is perhaps the most pronounced.

> PS - compare Twos, who define themselves aggressively (actively, through self-extension), and Fours, who define themselves from within (imaginatively - the "fantasy self"). Also, it bears noting that self-definition "actively" or "from within" is not necessarily balanced or healthy.

This self-esteem complex business: I feel that it is more pronounced with 6's because they can become very oscillatory and reactionary. They can look very self confident and authoritative, but when you challenge them they can pull back and apologize for their deeds. So you have to be very firm with 6's. Of course they will then resent your firmness. Gigi
