The exception comes when I write; I often get 'flashes' of very vivid images... but they only last a split second before disappearing to be replaced by words which tell me exactly what was happening in the picture. I can't think in pictures. I can't go more than a couple of seconds of looking at an image (in my head or otherwise) without trying to explain what's going on in words. If I can't define my experiences in words as they're happening, I usually don't take home any lasting impressions.

Tal & others,

Since you think primarily in words, do you find it hard to read quickly? The concept of speef reading, where you skip whole blocks of words, is totally alien to me. I think that maybe this is because I'm using the words to form mental images and skipping some would be like putting holes in the canvas.
