I vacillated between these various types for the entire year, and quite frankly wanted to 'be' an 8 or a 1. My own experience of search for type went as follows: The description of the unhealthy 4 appalled me, as did the description of the 3 and the 2 (which I typed very low on, initially). I spent quite some time convincing myself that I was other than what I am. Well... guess what! I'm a four, with strong wings in both three and five. When I am being unhealthy, I act very often like an unhealthy two. I am just beginning to really study the enneagram in depth, however here is my intuitive thought process: Motivation is essentially the way we cope/deal/hide. Whether biological or environmental, I won't get into very much, other than to say that I think it is a combination of both. The healthy side of this enneagram mirror, is a wonder to behold. The unhealthy cuts very deep... Therefore whatever type's foibles horrifies you the most, is probably your very own, warts and all. The others will simply amuse, or, in some cases, elicit admiration...
> Hi. I have recently taken a 180 question enneagram test ( Sisters of Mercy ) and came up with numbers 2, 3, 1 and 7 scoring quite high. I have recently tried the test on this site very spontaneously and got different results from the S.O.M. test and from each other as well !!
