Another geeky five responding, yes, I wear glasses and am nearly blind without them. My boyfriend also wears glasses,is blind, and is a five. I'm not sure about the actual statistics, or factual basis for asserting that fives are more often nearsighted than other points, but like many generalizations I associate with the enneagram (gothic fours, plastic threes, large nines....), I think it is an instructive caricature for beginners. I think that is the spirit in which Rohr writes about fours with berets and accents. They are helpful portraits for beginners, but are by no means written in stone. I have a friend who has been studying the enneagram for many, many years and is still limited by those superficial characterizations. He has little intuition for the enneagram and tries to extrapolate too much upon those stereotypes, so I suppose it isn't good to take them too literally. They sure make for good jokes though.
