As a 4w3 I want to congratulate you with finding the perfect partner! *smirk*
It is difficult to give you advice since I don't know how healthy your partner is, but I can try to give you some ideas on what he MIGHT want from you, if he is anything like me...
First of all; give him space and privacy/time to himself. Secondly; if you admire him in any way; show it/tell him! Respect his desire of feeling unique, but don't let him go too deep into the "I'm the most special person on eath"-drive. (As a 4 you're darn unique yourself! hehe)
If the 3 is strong in him, he MIGHT not be as much in touch with his own feelings as you might be, and he might think he knows himself better than he really does. Look at what he DOES more than what he says...(My 3 wing makes me the perfect actor sometimes, and I can say alot of ballony thinking it's the truth...)
The most important thing, however, and that goes for all relationships of course; communicate! Don't try to guess what he thinks, and don't expect him to guess what you think or what you want. We are not mind readers. (even if we like to think so...)
Fours are known to be dreaming of the ideal partner, but there is no such thing. (Pretty wisely said comming from a 4, ay? *s*) There will always have to be an equal amount of give and take and lots of compromsies no matter what type we find as a partner.

I don't know if this was of any help. If he is interested in reading about the enneagram, you would both benefit from that! (my 9w1 husband thinks it's all crap...*tear*)
