I certainly don't think meditation is a 9 exercise--I'm a 4 and I meditate every day, and I've known people of many types that meditated. People may tend to view it as a 9 thing because it involves sitting still, or because many people who meditate seem to be very calm. My brother is a 3 and he also can't seem to do it, or maybe he just hasn't really tried. But I believe there is great value in it for 3's--my brother can't seem to relax, and meditation is a perfect way to practice this. The difficulty is that you can't say, "I'm going to meditate so I can learn to relax." You can't go into it with a goal in mind, which I know is incredibly difficult for goal-oriented 3's. Practice meditation for its own sake, and just see where it leads you. It's an exercise in being rather than doing. Maybe you can even get obsessive about it, it that would help. :-)
